Jammu: Virtually acknowledging political interference in the transfers, Jammu and Kashmir Government came down heavily on officials using political influence to get transfers and postings of choice on Friday and asked such officials not to use influence otherwise non-compliance shall be viewed seriously and dealt with strictly in accordance with the rules.
Former Chief Minister and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah had recently accused the PDP-BJP coalition of running ‘transfer industry’ by ordering 2,100 transfers at various levels across the State in the past two years.
In an order (Circular No.05-GAD of 2017, Dated:02-02-2017), issued here by the General Administration Department, the government has said that while effecting the transfers, the eligibility and suitability of the concerned employees and the interest of Government work are to be given the utmost priority.
“Based on Cabinet Decision No. 156/12/2010 dated 27.7.2010, vide Government Order No. 861-GAD of 2010 dated 28.7.2010, a detailed policy on transfers and postings of Government employees has already been issued”, said an order.
