NMC seeks funds for 61,000 daily rated workers

Jammu: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri on Sunday appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union  Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Minister of State (PMO) Dr. Jatinder Singh for allocating  the funds  for creating of 61,000 for plan posts (Helpers) for regularisation daily rated workers working in the various departments of the State Government engaged  after 1st April, 1994.

Talking to reporters here on Sunday, Shastri urged them to approve a special package of Rs 2,000 crore as part of the annual  plan for the State  for year 2015-16 as and  for ensuing  year is finalized.

Apart from  mitigating  the long pending  demands  of regularisation  of daily rated  workers the said package as part of state annual  plan  with also fulfill the election commitment   of the present dispensation which was the part of the manifesto of the parties at helm of the affairs, he added.

Shastri, while reminded that the BJP had repeatedly promised in different rallies during state Assembly elections addressed by the Prime Minister in the state to address this issue on priority basis once the BJP comes in power, said that it is most appropriate time of the PDP/BJP led Govt. to tackle this long pending issue as this shall be a pivotal election plank in the forthcoming civic elections

NMC Chief reiterated the statement of State Finance Minister as positive gesture in solving this sensitive matter which he had described as a social issue.

Shastri hoped  that the Chief Minister, Union Finance  Minister, Minister of State (PMO) Dr.Jatinder Singh  and State Finance Minister  has the potential and capabilities  to decide the matter and working class  expressed full  confidence  in their capabilities.

Pleading the cause clerical cadre of the State Government, Shastri expressed deep concern for not addressing  the pay anomalies of ministerial cadre in the State for the last more than  six years now, he, said that with  the present dispensation  in power   in the state the grievances  in this regard will be addressed at the earliest.

Release of 6 per cent DA due from January last in favour of employees and pensioners, creation of separate wage head in each department for regular dispursement  of their monthly wages regularly, release of pending wages of all daily rated workers, strictly enforcement of CP fund deductions schemes in all departments of the stat governments, enhancing medical allowances to Rs. 1000 per month beside increasing salary of daily rated workers to Rs. 10,000 per months were other demands highlighted on the occasion.

Rajan Babu Khajuria, Sunil Kochhar, Sukhdev Singh, Surinder Kumar, Subash Sharma, Jaipal Sharma and Barkat Ram were also present.
