NMC for granting special package for employees

JAMMU: President, National Mazdoor Conference (NMC), Subash Shastri on Sunday appealed to all members of both Houses of Parliament representing Jammu and Kashmir State to take up the long pending matter regarding regularisation of 61,000 daily rated workers working in various departments of the State Government since long and implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission in favour of the employees and pensioners with Prime Minister for granting special package of Rs 9,000 crore out of annual plan, so that these burning issues are solved once for all.
Shastri reminded these parliamentarians and representatives that these daily rated workers, nearly 4,50,000 State Government employees and 1,00,000 pensioners gave a clear mandate on this and other issues which paved the way for them to get elected to Parliament. “They should not ignore these sentiments. The workers and employee constituency commands nearly 80 per cent of the total electorate,” he added.
Addressing a NMC workers meet here, while appreciating the good governance present regime headed by Mehbooba Mufti, Shastri expected that decision regarding implementation of Seventh Pay Commission in the State would be taken by her.
Shastri, while exhorted that for providing regular monthly wages to daily rated workers, a separate Wage Head should be created to financial grants till the regularisation process is completed.
Other demands highlighted on the occasion were immediate release of all pending dues of all daily wagers, amending SRO 64, issuance of regularisation orders of 180 daily wagers working in the Rural Development Department, enhancing medical allowance to Rs. 1,000 per month and increasing monthly salary of daily wagers to Rs. 10,000 per month.
