JAMMU: Superb five wickets haul from Nitin Wadhwa on Tuesday guided Rainawari Cricket Club to a big 64 runs win on way to the quarterfinals of the ongoing First State level Chief Minister’s Cup at Country Cricket Academy, Gharota, near here.
Now, in the quarterfinals, slated for 18th March, Rainawari Club shall take on National Cricket Club (NCC).
Earlier, in today’s pre-quarterfinals match, Rainawari defeated Big United Cricket Club by 64 runs. Batting first, Rainawari made 146 runs. Nipun Verma remained highest scorer with 49 runs while Dilbagh Singh contributed 13. For Big United, Tajamul emerged as most successful bowler with four wickets while Saquib and Asif shared two each.
Batting second, Big United bundled out for 83 runs. Only Nasir Rather and Raja could touch the double figure mark. Nitin Manhas bowled extremely well taking away five wickets. He was later adjudged man of the match. Dilbagh also did a good job scalping three.
