JAMMU: Demanding resignation from the Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh over the denial on AIIMS and Artificial lake project in Jammu, Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) on Monday threatened to give a Jammu Bandh call.
Led by President JWAM, Sunil Dimple, the activists assembled on Janipur High Court Road and raised slogans against the State Coalition Government.
The protesters alleged that the Bhartiya Janata Party has surrendered the interests of Jammu region to PDP by bowing on issues like AIIMS, new recruitment policy, NHAI levy and artificial lake project.
The protestors demanded resignation of the Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh, BJP MLAs and withdrawal of the support from PDP.
Dimple said the BJP has done a blunder by making alliance with the PDP. “From the day one, Mufti has created law and order problems for the people of the State and Jammu region by his irresponsible statements”, he added.
Sunil Dimple said that the statement of Mufti Sayeed of shelving Jammu’s prestigious Tawi lake project is a political stunt and match fixing between BJP and PDP to gain the political mileage. He dared Mufti Sayeed to complete this artificial lake project or face the consequences.
Dimple alleged that it is the conspiracy of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and PDP to please Pakistan and the separatists. He said that Mufti is taking revenge from the BJP for the 2008 agitation and this is a conspiracy to make Jammu weak on economic and developmental fronts. He said that the silence of Nirmal over the issue has proved that BJP has totally surrendered and sold the mandate of Jammu region to the Valley based PDP.
Dimple urged upon the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP to clear their stand on AIIMS, artificial lake project, (NHAI) road tax and on new recruitment policy.
Giving an ultimatum to the coalition Government, Dimple said that either save the interests of Jammu or get ready to face the consequences.
Among those who joined the protest include Sham Saroop, Harbans Tondon, Vinod Suri, Vijay Khajuria, Mohan Lal Dogra, Dev Raj, Kulwant Sharma, Vipan, Mukesh, Rakesh, Joginder Kumar, Brahma Datt Sharma, Raj Kumar and Ravinder Mishra.
