Niren, Rohan help JKP Junior to reach 319

JAMMU: Niren Dev Singh’s ton and Rohan Gill’s fifty help Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) Junior XI to scored huge total of 319 runs in the second test match of X’mas and New Year U-14 tournament, organised jointly by Police Headquarters Range Jammu and CSO at Parade Ground, here on Friday.
Batting first after winning the toss, JKP Jr. XI scored 319 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 49 overs. Niren Dev Singh scored splendid century with 19 boundaries and four sixes. He made unbeaten 108 runs whereas opener batsman Rohan Gill also scored 56 runs with 12 boundaries.
Shivansh, Raguv Thakur and Aryaman Parihar were the other batsmen with 38, 34 and 32 runs respectively.
Praful Dhar of CSO Junior XI was wrecker-in-chief who claimed five wickets while Anslum took two wickets and Ivon claimed one.
In reply, Christian Sports Jr. XI scored 198 runs for the loss of four wickets in 33 overs. Ronit and Kallis were the main batsmen with 55 and 52 runs whereas Anslum scored 41 runs.
Vikram took two wickets while Ayraman Parihar and Rohan Gill shared one each for JKP Junior XI. The match was ended in draw and equal points were given to the both teams.
The match was officiated by Suhail Yusuf, Sandeep Manchanda, Bunty and Vinod Kandyara.
DDP, RPHQ, Parshotam Sharma was the Chief Guest in today’s match who was introduced with both the teams. He was accompanied with Rajesh Gill former Ranji player, Vivek Shekar Dy SP Hdqrs. Jammu and Kuljit Singh Dy SP DAR Kathua.
The third and final match shall be played at the same venue on Saturday wherein DIG Jammu, Shakeel Beig will be the Chief Guest.
