LEH: During the course of Swacchta Hi Sewa Abhiyan, Nimoo Bazgo Power Station is continuously undertaking one activity or the other in the leadership of the head of the Power Station S Adhikari in order to spread message of cleanliness in the daily life.
On Monday, district administration, Leh along with Nimoo Bazgo Power Station organised the closure ceremony of Swacchta Hi Sewa Abhiyan organised from September 15 to October 2, 2017 at Degree College, Leh.
Minister of Cooperative Societies, Chering Dorjay was the Chief Guest on the occasion along with the CEC Dr Sonam Dawa Lonpo.
The ceremony started with the welcome address of Dy Commissioner, Leh, Avny Lavasa. The programme included couple of street plays organised by NHPC which entertained the crowd and gave them the message on cleanliness. District administration had organised various sports and cultural events during the 18 days Abhiyan.
NHPC Limited sponsored the prizes against these events which were also distributed during the closure ceremony by the Chief Guest.
Chering Dorjay said that the people need to be conscious in the waste management. He specifically asked children present not to throw garbage at any place. He also asked people to do away with the habit of spitting here and there. At last the minister and the district administration appreciated NHPC for its efforts undertaken during the cleanliness drive and making it a great success in Leh.
