STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: A deputation of J&K NHM employees led by their Provincial President Rohit Seth on Sunday met Senior Vice President JKPCC and former Minister Sham Lal Sharma and apprised him about their problems.
The deputation informed former Minister that all J&K NHM employees who have completed five years tenure should be regularised and the rest of the staff be given salary at par with permanent employees in compliance with Supreme Court verdict. Other demands include minimum 10 per cent annual increment, transparent transfer policy, facilities like provident fund, maternity leave, baby care leave, medical leave, earned leave, medical insurance, life insurance, etc.
Claiming that the practice of taking affidavits annually from the NHM employees is illegal and unjustified, the deputation demanded to stop the practice immediately.
The deputation also demanded hike in salaries of management staff viz. Block Managers, Block Monitoring Officers, Account Managers, State Account Managers and other management staff, which are being paid meager salaries. It was also sought that whenever regularisation policy is framed or equal pay equal work is implemented, the management staff must be considered for posts equivalent to their qualification and job profile and should not be treated as clerical cadre. “The I.S.M Doctors be given salary at Par with their counterpart MBBS doctors as per the direction of High Court and fixed salary be given to all the ASHA workers”, they further demanded.
Sham Sharma gave a patient hearing and assured them to raise the issues with the concerned authorities.
Another deputation of Team Jammu led by Zorawar Singh also called on Sham Lal Sharma and sought help from Congress party to bring a resolution in the upcoming assembly session to book drug mafia with sedition charges. He said forthcoming Assembly session will provide opportunity to take initiative in this direction. He appealed to Congress party through its Senior Vice President to take the lead in fighting drug mafia in J&K.
Sharma assured Team Jammu that Congress party will fight in and outside
the assembly against drug menace.
