JAMMU: Thousands of NHM employees including employees from Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme (RNTCP), J&K State AIDS Control Society and other schemes of NHM continued their strike across the State which entered 17th Day on Friday.
Demanding their regularisation, the employees assembled near Press Club Jammu and raised slogans against the false promises made by the government for framing a job policy for them.
“Since the launch of NHM Scheme in J&K in 2006, the State Government has failed to frame out a draft policy of regularisation for NHM employees whereas only verbal assurances were made in favour of them time and again”, the protesting employees said.
Chief Spokesperson, Joint Action Coordination Committee, Faizan A Tramboo informed the media that Government of J and K is not paying any heed to their genuine demands and forcing them to take aggressive measures to project their demands, which will be not beneficial for anyone, especially the needy and poor patients.
The protesting employees asserted that they have been approaching the State Government and the concerned departments from the last many years seeking a policy for their regularisation but no one paid heed to their demands.
NHM Association President Rohit Seth, President RNTCP, Dr S.S Sambyal and President, JKSACS, Nisar Ahmed Dar urged upon the government to consider the genuine demands of NHM employees on priority basis.
