NHM employees demand regularisation

DODA: National Health Mission (NHM) Employees under the banner of NHM Employees Association Doda District on Friday held a press conference here in Doda to discuss their demands threadbare.
The Press Conference was held under the Chairmanship of Sr Advisor NHM Employees Association Doda Dr Nasir Masood Indrabi, who demanded the regularization of all NHM employees at par with the rest of the employees with the departments like Education, PHE, Agriculture, Sports etc.
While briefing the media, Dr Nasir Masood said that the future of thousands of NHM employees viz Doctors, Paramedics and Management has been still hanging in balance since 2006, despite the fact they have put their numerous years of their lives in the service of health department.
The main demands which are highlighted in the press conference were immediate regularization of NHM employees, implementation of equal pay for equal work as per Honble Supreme Court’s Order and maternity leave benefits for female staff at par with regular staff. Further Dr Nasir Masood stressed with many of NHM employees have crossed the age bar.
The Association said that a no of memorandums, charter of demands and representations have been submitted at all levels by the association to the State Govt but unfortunately successive regimes didn’t give a heed to our genuine demands.
Faizan A Tramboo and Ashok Shan were among others present in the press conference.
The NHM Association urged the State Govt to immediately take up this important matter on priority basis and frame out a draft policy of regularization for NHM Employees working in Jammu and Kashmir.
