JAMMU: National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on Monday celebrated Gandhi Jayanti in a different way by organising an free eye-check up camp for truckers at Ban Toll Plaza on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
This initiative was the part of all India campaign of NHAI for the welfare of truck drivers.
It is being done by NHAI through its Regional Office Jammu.
Hem Raj Bhagat, Regional Officer NHAI Jammu and M.T Attade, Project Director NHAI Jammu were present while the camp was inaugurated by Rakesh Gupta, President, Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCI) along with Arun Manhas, Additional DC, Jammu along with all elected body members of CCI Jammu.
Chairman, Citizen Cooperative Bank, Praveen Sharma was also present.
All drivers are being given free spectacles and medicines after eye check up.
NHAI officials said that the eye camp will be continue till October 6, 2017.
Regional Officer Jammu and Project Implementation Unit Jammu including complete NHAI Jammu staff also took Swachhta pledge on the occasion.
