Newly enrolled advocates administered oath

JAMMU: State Judicial Academy organised oath ceremony and lecture on ‘Professional Ethics and Conduct’ for newly enrolled advocates of Jammu province at a function organized here at the Academy complex on Sunday.
The programme was organized under the guidance and patronage of Chief Patron of J and K State Judicial Academy, Justice N. Paul Vasanthakumar, Chief Justice, High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Committee of Judges, State Judicial Academy namely Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar, Chairman and Justice Janak Raj Kotwal, Member.
The proceedings were conducted by Abdul Rashid Malik, Director, J&K State Judicial Academy who also welcomed Justice Janak Raj Kotwal.
Malik exhorted upon newly enrolled advocates and deliberated on the need for oath ceremony and lecture on professional ethics and conduct for the advocates. This event will surely guide the young lawyers towards high constitutional values as the profession of law has been cherished by great personalities like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawahar Lal Nehru and Dr. Ambedkar, Director observed.
Justice Janak Raj Kotwal, Member Committee, State Judicial Academy administered Oath to the newly enrolled Advocates and newly enrolled Advocates received absolute Advocates’ licenses.
The oath ceremony was followed by lecture on the “Professional Ethics and conduct” delivered by Justice Janak Raj Kotwal. His Lordship stressed upon the newly enrolled Advocates to adhere to the ethics and conduct rules.
Vote of thanks was presented by the Director, State Judicial Academy.
