DODA: Mohsin Najar’s splendid 46 runs and seven wickets haul helped New Siraj Cricket Club (NSCC) Doda to script a 29 runs win over equally good side of Thathri Cricket Club (TCC) to lift the Pir Panchal Cricket League, the final of which was played at GHSS Ground Stadium Ghat in Doda.
The tournament was organised by Rashtriya Rifles Battalion Unit Doda.
Earlier, , NSCC Doda won the toss and batting first, rode on a superb batting display from Mohsin Najar and Ashfaq Gattu setting a target of 139 runs losing eight wickets.
Mohsin played a fabulous innings of 46 runs, while Ashfaq Gattu scored 40 runs for the team.
For TCC, Arif and Ravinder took three and two wickets respectively.
In reply, TCC gave a tough fight but could not chase the stipulated target and was bundled out for 109 runs. Ravinder was the highest scorer from TCC with 25 runs while Jaffer contributed 13 runs.
For NSCC Doda, Mohsin was the most thrilling bowler who took seven wickets while Irfan took one.
For his all-round show, Mohsin Najar of New Siraj Cricket Club Doda was adjudged as Man of the Tournament.
In the prize distribution function, Commanding Officer (CO) 10RR Col Sunil Mishra who was the Chief Guest gave away winners and runners up trophies and also other individual prizes to both the teams along with Patron YSCC Doda Manzoor Ahmed Batt, Director Chenab TV Syed Raiz Ahmed and Senior BJP Leader Ishtiaq Ahmed Wani.
The winning team was given Rs 10,000 cash with trophy whereas Rs 7,000 were given to runner up team along with trophy.
The match was officiated by Irshad Malik and Yasir Dar as Umpires while Usman Gattu acted as Scorer.
