New political party launched in J&K

JAMMU: A new political party, ‘National Democratic Party’, was launched on Monday in Jammu with its office-bearers assuring to offer “promotion of good governance and social justice” to the people of the State.
The party was floated here by its State President Sandeep Turki.
“We have launched ‘National Democratic Party’ to provide a platform to the people of Punjab to implement what they want and what they think is good for the State,” he said at the launch, adding that the leaders of the party were commoners.
“Our aims are to promote vibrant civil society, to support poor communities in their engagements on service delivery and social transformation, focus on an awareness and capacity building at a local government level and to promote the nation in which government politics, business, civil society and the daily lives of the people will remain free from corruption,” he said.
The party, he added, has moral values to provide accountability, transparency, efficiency and is responsible to use of financial resources and organizational assets.
Arun Mahajan was nominated as Vice President of the party, Tilak Raj as General Secretary, Vicky Raina-Secretary and Meer Chand as Treasurer.
Others present in the press conference were Arun Mahajan, Vicky Raina, Meer Chand, Swati Rajput, Sonam Gupta, Dilwar Singh, Kewal Krishan and Sonia Gupta.
