Dear Editor,
To make the best of the changed scenario, the new leadership needs to bear in mind who are the genuine well-wishers of the state, its people and its unique place in the fast-changing globalised setting. Sensitive and honest governance would yield the desired result in the long strife-stricken state which needs to learn from other states of the Union that have passed through similar turmoil. No problem remains permanently intractable, provided the parties concerned keep themselves abreast of the ever-evolving perspective due to the internal and external dynamics. Mehbooba’s ascendency as CM with the firm electoral verdict should be a welcome change in the scenario, marked by senseless violence. The vicious circle needs to be broken with conviction and clarity to bring peace, progress and prosperity to the border state.
