JAMMU: Following extreme case of lethargy and utter negligence by the staff deputed by JKBOSE during Class X examination at Government Higher Secondary School Ramkote, which erroneously distributed Class 12th English paper instead of stipulated paper meant for the aforesaid class, forced the school board to defer the exam to 25th March. The Class 12 paper was scheduled for 7th March.
According to report, the Education Department staff deputed for exam duties at GHSS Ramkote and GHS Gujroo Nagrota had collected the question papers from Police Station Ramkote for the class 10 and class 12 examinations. However, due to negligent approach of aforesaid staff deputed at GHSS Ramkote, paper of English subject pertaining to 12th class was opened and distributed among the aspirants of class 10 appearing for the same subject.
Surprisingly, the error came to light only after students noticed that they have been provided with wrong question. Consequently, in a bid to damage control, the aforesaid staff rectified the error and distributed the correct question papers though it took about an hour to retain order in the examination hall. To hush up the matter, an extra hour was granted to the students to make up the time lapsed in the chaos. However, at Nagrota Gujroo High School, the error was prevented in the nick of time as the mistake was noticed by one of the staff members.
Giving information about the gaffe, Gulam Nabi Section Officer JKBOSE Billawar accused that staff deputed at these is responsible for this error. “The matter has been reported to the Board Office”, he added.
