RAJOURI: Taking a strong note of the neglect on the part of State Government in providing relief and rescue to the people of Rajouri and Poonch Districts which were severely affected in this devastating flood situation which has created havoc across the Jammu and Kashmir State, Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) Rajouri District unit on Sunday questioned and criticised the State Government headed by Chief Minister (CM) Omar Abdullah for adopting discriminatory attitude towards these districts in this need of hour.
The district unit under the leadership of BJP State Vice President Advocate Vibodh Gupta and District President Bharat Bhushan Vaid conducted tour of different villages and areas which were badly affected due to the recent rains and floods across the Rajouri District. Later a press conference was also addressed by the unit to highlight the problems being faced by the people and the failure of government machinery which has been employed for the relief and rescue operations.
Vibodh lambasted CM and his Cabinet Ministers for ignoring the people of twin border districts who are still crying for help from the present government.
“One can understand that the situation is proving to be grim with each passing day in Kashmir Valley but still CM must tour these twin districts to assess the losses occurred but sorry state of affairs is that not even a single Cabinet Minister neither from Jammu nor from Kashmir bothered to visit these people who are in dire need of help for last more than 12 days”, Vibodh asserted.
He highlighted that in absence of communication system and due to tough terrain some areas are still inaccessible for administration and media where nature has shown its cruel face more when compared with other parts of the State.
