Bhanot was murdered while saving passengers from terrorists on board the hijacked Pan Am Flight 73 in 1986.
The 29-year-old actress took to Instagram to share the first picture of her look in “Neerja”. In the photo, Sonam is seen in the get-up of an air hostess, sporting shoulder-length hair.
“Hello everyone! This is me as Neerja in our tribute to Neerja Bhanot. This is my most special film..thank you @foxstarhindi @blinglive,” Sonam posted.
“Neerja” will be directed by Ram Madhvani.
