JAMMU: The Youth Wing of Nami Dogri Sanstha on Monday organised Ek Sham-Aditya Bhanu Ke Naam (First National Prize Winner of AIR) at KL Sehgal Hall, here.
The programme was composed by famous composer Ustad Sakhawat Husain Khan and Subhash Lengah in which Prof. Anupama Sharma, Patron, Youth Wing, Nami Dogri Sanstha was the Chief Guest and Social activist and educationist, Shakuntla Joshi was the Guest of Honour.
Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages was the Special Invitee.
Renowned Urdu short story writer, Poet and Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India and Patron Nami Dogri Sanstha, S.S Anand Lehar presided over the function and Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila, President, Nami Dogri Sanstha also shared the presidium.
Aditya Bhanu was felicitated by the Youth Wing, Nami Dogri Sanstha with Shawl, Trophy and Citation by all the dignitaries.
The Chief Guest appreciated the songs and Ghazals and also appreciated the singer Aditya Bhanu who sung the compositions in a beautiful manner.
Shakuntla shared the Aditya Bhanu’s experiences with the audience and also congratulated NDS for the cause of music, literature, art and culture.
Dr. Amn said, “art and culture are our rich heritage and writers, singers, artistes play an important role in social progress.”
S.S Anand Lehar congratulated the Aditya Bhanu, and said that musical evening is of great importance and said that you may take any language but don’t forget your mother tongue Dogri.
Aditya Bhanu sung Thumri Dadran Ghazals, accompanied by Neeraj Verma on Tabla, Nitlesh Vanshu Violin, Khem Kumar Mithu Octopad and Sunil Sharma on Synth.
Shivangi Lengah, compered the programme and Nidhi Kaila read welcome address and Yash Pal ‘Yash’ presented the vote of Thanks.
