JAMMU: Nami Dogri Sanstha (NDS) organised a ‘Sangeet Sandhya – Dr. Chanchal Sharma Te Unde Geet’ at KL Sehgal Hall, Jammu. The Sangeet Sandhya was composed by famous composer Suraj Singh in which Dr. Aziz Hajini, Secretary Cultural Academy was the Chief Guest while S. K. Kapoor, Assistant General Manager, State Bank of India, Jammu and O.P Sharma, Retd. Ex. President, J&K Bank were the Guests of Honour and Mohan Singh was the Special Guest.
S.S Anand Lehar, renowned Urdu short story writer, presided over the function and Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila, President NDS also shared the dias.
Dr. Chanchal Sharma was felicitated by all the dignitaries etc. and the title of ‘Sangeet Shree’ was also conferred upon her by Nami Dogri Sanstha (Regd.).
The Chief Guest appreciated the songs of the poetess and said she is highly qualified, besides this she is a renowned light and folk singer in the field of music and performing since 1991 in Radio Kashmir Jammu.
S.K Kapoor congratulated NDS for the cause of music, literature, art and culture.
Prof. Anupama Sharma congratulated Dr. Chanchal Sharma and said that she is a good poetess having three books published to her credit. She has honoured with five awards.
Dr. Amn commended the role of NDS Jammu and praised their efforts for the uplift of art, culture and languages.
Anand Lehar said that art and culture are our rich heritage and writers, singers, artistes play an important role in social progress and said that you may take any language but don’t forget your mother tongue Dogri. You may eat any junk food but don’t leave eating Dogri recipes.
Yash Pal ‘Yash’ compered the programme in a very befitting manner, Som Raj Taroch presented the vote of thanks and Capt. Lalit Sharma read welcome address. Sandeep Jamwal read paper on Dr. Chanchal Sharma.
Pallvi Koul, Sonav Dubey, Bandana, Sonia, Karuna, Suraj Singh, Manoj Bakshi, and Dr. Chanchal Sharma recited their poems. Amit Anand accompanied on Tabla, Vijay Anand Dholak, Shivinder Kumar Guitar, Lucky Sahil Octopad, Rakesh Anand Flute and Krishan Kumar Johny on Synth.
