NDF volunteers join Talaash Survey on OOSC

JAMMU: National Development Foundation (NDF) J&K Jammu in collaboration with Samagra Shiksha and with support of UNICEF joined hands with School Education Department to facilitate ongoing Talaash Survey for identification, enrollment and mainstreaming of Out of School Children (OOSC).
Rajiv Khajuria, President/CEO NDF, while addressing one day training of volunteers on Talaash app, informed that NDF has recruited a team of 50 volunteers and deputed them with the nodal officers nominated by the Education Department Jammu i.e.; Viney Khajuria, Umesh Gupta. Sugandh all senior lecturers of DIET Jammu who will further depute them and monitor them in field.
He called upon the volunteers to undertake quality survey as per the guidelines of the app and Samagra Shiksha.
Nodal Officers along with Amit Jagotra (ZNO Jammu Zone), Vikas Khajuria and Mudassar from Samagra Shiksha sensitized the volunteers on Talaash app.
Ajit Sharma, Coordinator Samagra Shiksha in his address elaborated that Talaash survey is for identification and mainstreaming of OOSC between ages of 6 to 18 years.
This survey is helping government to identify such children who have never been enrolled or dropped out for one or other reason will be identified and admitted in age appropriate classes in the school in same habitation.
It is a web monitored survey and up to till now more than 50 thousand students have been identified as OOSC. This survey is being conducted by the JK Samagra Shiksha with the support from Directorate of School Education Kashmir, Directorate of School Education Jammu, UNICEF and National Development Foundation J&K Jammu.
