NDA Govt schemes offshoot of UPA regime: Bhalla

STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla on Sunday said it is surprising that PDP and BJP is claiming credit for something which has already been done by the previous UPA regime. He said that most projects inaugurated by BJP were in fact launched by the earlier UPA government citing examples of the Bhupen Hazarika Dhola-Sadiya Bridge in Assam and the Chenani-Nashri tunnel in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that demonetisation was the only new thing done by the BJP in the last three years but that too failed to get the desired results and it only caused misery to people, especially farmers.
He urged the PDP-BJP government to work for aspirations of the people of the state. BJP governments in the Centre and J&K should come up with new projects rather than renaming schemes initiated by the UPA and taking credit for the same. “You name a scheme launched by the NDA government and you shall find the roots in UPA-I and UPA-II regime. Today BJP talk about Digital India. This project was conceived by former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in 1990s.
How can they take credit for it? The only innovation BJP and PDP have made is the frequency of changing their stand on important issues in State. The Prime Minister inaugurated all the five projects namely Chenani- Nashri Tunnel, Baglihar Phase -II, Uri Hydro Project, Transmission Line Leh and SMVD Narayana Hospital Panthal and no doubt these all are big projects but were initiated and funded by the previous government,” he pointed out.
Taking a dig at PDP and BJP for taking credit after inaugurating Medical Colleges, Bhalla while addressing public gathering at Bhour Camp in continuation to his mass contact programme to listen to the grievances of different areas of Gandhi Nagar constituency said establishing Medical Colleges and cancer hospitals in the State was on the top priority of the previous UPA regime, by patting their back for the same PDP and BJP is trying to befool the people in the name of the development. He also attended a function at Kul Devta Bhero Mandir of Bhour Camp in the presence of Amrit Bali Sarpanch Bhour Camp, Jagmohan Sharma Naib Sarpanch, Parshotam Lal, Tek Chand, Suraj Parkash, Jaswinder Sharma, Amar Nath, Sita Ram, Pardeep Sharma, Joginder Sharma and Vicky besides Sarpanch Kapoor Lal Ward President Bhour Camp, Panch Kewal Krishan, Ex Panch Sham Lal, Bishan Lal, Kartar Chand, Mulkh Raj, Ram Lal, and Bal Krishan Youth leader.
The Congress-led UPA government was serious to cater to people’s aspirations for development and prosperity and accordingly it had set up more administrative units and centrally sponsored schemes over the years,” Bhalla said.
He also recalled the efforts of Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, sanctioning four new Medical Colleges and two Cancer Hospitals for the state. Lashing out at anti people policies of State Government, Bhalla asked the Coalition Government to stop confusing people on several issues.
