NCURDS organises district children science congress

JAMMU: National Council for Urban and Rural Development Society (NCURDS) on Thursday organised District level Children Science Congress at St. Peter’s High School, BC Road, here.
Around 300 children including teachers of different schools of jammu district participated in the event and about 60 projects were presented by the children.
The programme was supported by NCSTC, Department of Science and Technology, Delhi and organised under the supervision of Zaffar Ullah Khan, State Coordinator, NCSC, J and K.
Principal, St. Peter’s High School, BC Road, Thomas Niri Bathu was the Chief Guest who inaugurated the congress.
In his inaugural address, he said such programmes inculcate great interest among the students in teaching learning process especially in Science.
Zaffar stated that it is the urgent need of hour that such programmes should be organised time to time to make teaching learning process more effective.
Kuldeep Gupta, State Academic Coordinator, NCSC laid stress that such programmes break the monotony of the routine classroom which enable the students to explore their talents.
Earlier Zeeshan Khan, District Coordinator, Jammu NCSC welcomed the participants and briefed about the programme. He gave various guidelines for presentation and evaluation of the projects to be presented in the congress by child scientists.
Dr. Ashiq Hussain, Professor, Govt. Degree College, Kishtwar and also a member of Academic Committee, NCSC Jammu focused for proper understanding of concept in studies, learning by doing as the best method and the NCSC is wonderful platform for the same.
