NCC wins by 4 wkts in T20

JAMMU: National Cricket Club (NCC) on Wednesday registered a fine four wickets win against Jammu and Kashmir Police to qualify for the next round of the Salute and Tribute Saichen Martyrs’ Twenty20 Tournament underway at Parade Ground, here.
Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, J and K Police XI was bowled out for 120 runs in 18.3 overs. Farooq Ahmed played fine innings of 43-run off 47 balls with the help of two fours and two sixes. Ishtiaq and Mohd Ashraf were main scorers with 20 and 22 runs respectively.
For NCC, Pranav Mahajan, Vijay Dogra, Shiv Dutt Sharma and Deepak Manhas shared two wickets each.
Batting second, NCC attained the goal making 123 runs for six wickets in 18.2 overs.
Vijay Dogra (23 off 13 balls, 1×4, 2×6) and Rakesh Kumar (33 off 20 balls, 5×4) played unbeaten innings while Pranav Gupta and Inderjeet Singh contributed 25 and 17 runs respectively.
For J and K Police XI, Ashraf bagged two wickets, followed by Maqsood Ishtiyaq and Balwan Singh, who shared apiece each. Today’s match was officiated by the technical panel comprising Madan Verma and Sadiq Hussain as Umpires while Amarjeet Singh was Scorer.
