NAGROTA: Saying that National Conference is poised for highest ever tally in the Jammu region, Provincial President Devender Singh Rana on Sunday exuded confidence about the party emerging as a force to reckon with in the upcoming elections to the Legislative Assembly.
“Given support of the people and enthusiasm of the cadre, National Conference is all set to make it a big in the region”, Rana said while addressing a gathering of people at Kathar Manwal in Nagrota Constituency this evening.
He said the party with a progressive agenda for all the three regions of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh is entering into the electoral arena at the strength of enviable developmental profile of the past six years. “This will get further momentum in years to come”, he said.
Rana said National Conference alone can meet the challenges faced by the State given its track record of decades. He described his party as a great peoples’ movement, saying it has a vision of a vibrant, progressive and united Jammu and Kashmir.
He sought the cooperation of the people in further strengthening National Conference at grass roots for achieving the objective of peace and holistic development of the three regions. He said an ambitious beginning has been made and substantial achievements registered during the past six years. He said continued cooperation of the people will help in steering Jammu and Kashmir to new heights of progress and development.
Referring to his vision about Nagrota Constituency, Rana who is NC candidate of the area declared that all out efforts would be made to develop the area on modern lines with focus on its linking with the capital city as a residential-cum-economic hub.
“Despite being so far, the area has remained distant from progress and development over the years due to multiple reasons and time has come to make the constituency a vibrant centre of activity”, Rana said.
The Provincial President also referred to the carving out of new administrative units and said this will facilitate solving the revenue related problems locally. “The basic purpose of the new administrative units is to cut the delays and save the precious time of people for undertaking strenuous journeys and spending days together in persuing their cases”, he said, adding that this is the real spirit of democracy. He also complimented the people for remaining steadfast in their demands and referred to keenness of the Chief Minister in ensuring that these are met. He said National Conference has all along stood by side of people and will continue to do so in future as well.
About development and socio-economic transformation of the constituency, Rana said that creation of new administrative units is a step towards realisation of the dream of progress and prosperity. With administration coming at the doorsteps, the people will have a feel of being empowered, which is necessary for harmonious growth of the society. He said these units will usher the area in a new phase of development and progress.
