JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Thursday paid glowing tributes to former minister and senior party leader Bodh Raj Bali on his 13th Death Anniversary, describing him as a leader par excellence who devoted all his life in service of the people of the State.
Leading the party cadre in paying floral tributes to Bali, at a function held at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan here this morning, the State Vice President Rattan Lal Gupta highlighted the immense contribution of the veteran leader in the development and progress of Jammu and Kashmir.
“A leader of high political acumen and caliber, having passion for serving the people, especially poor and down-trodden, Bali has left an indelible mark on the political horizon of the State”, Gupta said while recalling his association with him for decades.
He said best tribute to the towering leader will be to strengthen the party at grass root level and make it a vibrant force to satiate the urges and aspirations of the people.
Paying tributes to Bali, Provincial Secretary Sheikh Bashir Ahmed said that the veteran leader worked tirelessly in various capacities as a party functionary and senior cabinet minister for people belonging to all walks of life. He said his contribution in strengthening National Conference at the grass roots level in Jammu Province remains high point of his political career.
“Bali worked with both Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah and Dr Farooq Abdullah and galvanized the party at all levels”, he added.
Several other senior leaders, including Th. Kashmir Singh State Vice President, Qazi Jalal-Ud- Din Ex-MLA, Babu Ram Pal Ex-MLC, Pardeep Bali, Satwant Kour Dogra Provincial President Women Wing, Abdul Gani Teli, Ch. Harron paid tributes to Bodh Raj Bali. They dwelt upon his political career and said his self-less work will continue to inspire generations. They described the late leader as a person of immense qualities who remained at the forefront in solving problems of the people.
Those present on the occasion included Vijay Lochan, Dharamveer Singh Jamwal District President Jammu , Reeta Gupta, Dilshad Malik, Amrit Warsha, H.D Quershi, Sarika, Rohit Bali, Tejinder Singh ( Aman ) and others.
