JAMMU: Expressing dismay over lack of civic amenities, especially the proper drainage in city interiors, OBC Cell of National Conference on Monday sought immediate corrective measures in view of the ongoing monsoon season, saying the people have been subjected to enormous difficulties.
“Just one mild spell of rains leaves the city haywire and the condition of interiors like Sanjay Nagar present a more horrible scenario with drains choked and the entire area water logged”, Co-Chairman OBC Cell Abdul Gani Teli said while addressing workers at Sanjay Nagar near Gandhi Nagar. He referred to the devastation created by recent rains which left most of the city areas waterlogged causing damage to property. “If this is the position in the capital city what must be the scenario in remote, urban and rural areas”, he added.
He lambasted PDP-BJP Government for failing on all fronts, especially in ensuring basic minimum necessities to the people and said the unscheduled power cuts and low voltage besides erratic water supply were other irritants facing to the residents. “The situation is becoming grimmer with each passing day”, he said, adding that the false slogan of Ache Din is proving as a big joke with the people. He asked the BJP leadership to have a retrospection and explain over the unfulfilled promises with the people of Jammu in particular.
The Co-Chairman described BJP as perfected agitationists, who can only create obstacles but when it comes to governing they lack even basics. “Now that they are in the command, the governance is witnessing inertia and administration is in shambles due to lack of political direction”, Teli added.
Those present on the occasion included Shahid Mohd ( Pinka ) , Subash Mehra, Saneh Lata, Reenu Kumari, Soni Kumar, Gurtaj Singh, Rajesh Bakashi and Sunny.
