NC decries new job policy, PRCs issue

STATE TIMES NEWS
BANIHAL : Vowing to fight tooth and nail the new job policy, newly nominated District President National Conference Ramban, Sajjad Shaheen on Monday called for a collective approach to foil anti-youth and anti-people agenda of the PDP-BJP Coalition Government.
Addressing various felicitation functions held by the grass root level workers at various places in the district, especially at Batote and Banihal, Shaheen said the government has belied the hopes of the people by failing in deliverance and resorting to rhetoric.
He attributed performance inertia to the contradictory agenda of the two coalition partners and said this has and will in future impact the overall governance and retard the growth of development and progress, which had been given new impetus by the Omar led government during the past six years. He cautioned the people to remain vigilant by not allowing the anti-people machinations of the duo succeed.
Referring to overwhelming resentment against the new recruitment policy, the District President lauded the unity and resilience demonstrated by young people in all the three regions of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh and said National Conference will not be a fence sitter on this important issue. “It is unfortunate that measures like SKEPWY, Udaan, Himayat are being diluted and the role of recruitment agencies like Public Service Commission and State Service Selection Board marginalised to undertake recruitment of favourites by ignoring the overall merit of deserving candidates”, he said.
Exhorting Youth National Conference workers to generate awareness about anti-youth and anti-people policies of the government, Shaheen said that instead of focusing on governance and development the coalition was indulging in antagonising different segments of society to divert the attention from real issues. He asked the government to show inclination of fulfilling the promises the two parties made to the people before elections. “They appear to be in competition to score points over one another as a result of which the governance has taken rear seat”, He added.
The District President also referred to the various other issues confronted to the people and regretted that no headway has been made in restoring various utility servies and maintaining the road-network which got severly damaged due to flash floods and incessant rains. He also expressed anguish over non-availability of rations at the depots and delay in the salaries of various segments of employees. He also castigated the Coalition Government for issuing PRCs at school level, saying this was against the spirit of State subject laws.
Shaheen assured the people that National Conference will fan out all across the State to highlight the problems faced by the people and seek their redressal.
