NC, Congress deprived people of basic rights for 70 years: Yudhvir

STATE TIMES NEWS

JAMMU: BJP contesting candidate for Jammu East Assembly segment, Yudhvir Sethi criticized the National Conference (NC) and Congress for depriving several communities of their fundamental rights for over 70 years under the pretext of Article 370. Interacting with the people during a series of meetings at Athem, Khajuria Mohalla, Megh Sabha at Ward No 9 and others while campaigning in the Jammu East constituency, Yudhvir Sethi emphasized that communities such as the Valmikis, Gorkhas, and Civic Safaikaramcharis had been ignored and neglected by successive NC and Congress regimes. “Under the guise of Article 370, NC and Congress perpetuated decades of injustice against these marginalized communities, denying them basic rights and opportunities for growth and development. Not only were these communities marginalized, but even their children were deprived of educational opportunities and job benefits under the NC and Congress regimes, he added.
“For decades, children from the Valmiki, Gorkha, and Civic Safaikaramchari communities were denied access to quality education and employment opportunities due to the discriminatory policies of the past governments. NC and Congress ensured that these communities remained trapped in a cycle of poverty and exclusion,” he added. The senior BJP leader further stressed that it was only after the abrogation of Article 370 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government that these communities finally received their due recognition and rights.
During the door-to-door campaign, Yudhvir Sethi assured the people of Jammu East constituency that he is fully committed to addressing their long-standing issues and ensuring overall development in the area. He pledged to work relentlessly towards improving infrastructure, enhancing civic amenities, etc. Sethi emphasized that the BJP’s vision for Jammu and Kashmir focuses on providing better healthcare, education, and a clean, safe environment. He reassured the residents of East Constituency that their concerns will be prioritized, and every effort will be made to bring about a significant transformation in their lives through transparent governance and development-oriented policies. Sethi urged the people of Jammu East to vote and support for him for a progressive and prosperous future and vowed to continue working for the upliftment and empowerment of all sections of society.
