JAMMU: This Sunday, Natrang presented an improvised presentation of a new play Umeed in its Sunday Theatre Series. The play was conceptualised and designed by Rahul Singh. The performance received encouraging reviews from the audience.
The play revolved around the concept of inner hope and demur towards the rest of the world, hope that is always within us, hope that always stays while the rest of the materials and people leave us, it always resides in us. ‘Why is it so easy to ask others about our problems and not ask our own inner-self for the solution?’ this feeling was the under-current of the play. Why we give charge to others to regulate our lives is another question which was raised in the play. We all know what we want and what we desire but we always hope that others will give us the same opinion or solution as we have in our hearts and brains. While we go around asking for help or sharing our desires and aspirations with others, we forget that we alone can do what we want but just to satisfy ourselves it appears mandatory to go around for suggestions which pull us back rather than motivate us.
Mahikshit Singh, Gautam Kumar and Mohit Koul executed the idea of hope in a praiseworthy manner. Lights were designed and operated by Neeraj Kant whereas music was rendered by Bhisham Gupta. Aishwarya Sathe presented the show before the audience and the show was coordinated by Mohd Yaseen.
