JAMMU: Balwant Thakur, the Regional Director of ICCR Jammu, left for China on Saturday to attend the 10th China International Folk Art Festival being held at Qinghai Grand Theatre in Xining City of China.
Balwant will be a part of four member Government of India cultural delegation to China headed by Director General of ICCR.
The other two members include Dr. K.S Rao, Secretary Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi and Pratibha Prahlad, Director Delhi International Festival of arts.
During his China tour, Balwant Thakur will also visit and stay in Shanghai, Beijing and Nanjing cities of China and will inspect, study and have a close look review of the arts infrastructure where
In addition to this he will visit to China Writers Association, China Dance Association and China Theatre Association for interaction programmes.
The opening event of 10th China International Folk Art Festival will feature presentations from USA, Philippines, China, South Korea, Japan, Kyrgyz Republic, Magnolia, Netherlands, Ireland, Finland, Fiji, Argentina and India.
