National Voters Day celebrated across the region

KATHUA: The national voters day was celebrated in Govt. Hr. Sec. school Budhi. On this occasion NSS Volunteers displayed a skit” jagrook matdata-desh ka bhavishya” to motivate the masses and them to use their vote in right manner and demonstate the slogans to spread the message of ‘right to vote’. Principal Naresh Sharma stressed the youth who attained the age of 18 to get enrolled themselves and must cast their votes to right person. Programme officer Ravinder Singh said the theme of national voter day 2016 is “inclusive and Qualitative Electoral participation” and you must caste your votes for success of democracy as role of youth is maximum in the devlopment of the country. Satish Chandel Sr. lecturer administrated the pledge to all the students and Staff. Others who present in the ocassion were Bua Ditta, Ashok Kumar D.P. Angral, Jai Bharat, Y S Pathania Upinder Singh. Shashi Paul Kiran Salathia Anita Sharma etc.
AT KATHUA 6th National Voters Day was celebrated with enthusiasm across the district today.
The day-long celebrations started with flagging off a massive students rally from the premises of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kathua by ADDC Dr. Manmohan Singh.
Deputy Commissioner Kathua Ramesh Kumar while greeting people on the Voters Day laid thrust upon the need to make fair use of their right to franchise. He said that the theme of National Voters Day is “Inclusive and Qualitative Participation” which aims that all the eligible Voters shall be registered and shall cast their right to franchise without any bias.
He also distributed EPIC’s among the newly enrolled voters besides a pledge taking ceremony was also held.
GDC Kathua celebrated National Voters Day on 25.01.2016 by launching a massive signature campaign in the College which was organized by NSS volunteers and NCC cadets in order to spread awareness regarding the casting of the vote for stronger democracy. The students participated in the campaign with great dedication and enthusiasm. The resource person of the programme was Prof. Yog Dutt, Retd. Professor, who deliberated on the role of youth in the election process for the stronger democratic system.
Earlier, the welcome address was given by Prof. (Dr.) Nater Singh, Principal of the College. In his address he highlighted the need of understanding our rights and duties.
The programme was compared by Prof. Sumanesh and vote of thanks was presented Sangeeta. Others who were present on the occasion were Suraya Partap Singh, Rachna, Deepashikha, Prof. Kailash and M.N. Sharma.
Nehru Yuva Kendra, Kathua organized a rural workshop on “National Voters Awareness Day on 25th of January 2016, at village Debu-Chack on Boarder Area, Block Mahreen. In this workshop over 100 members of Youth Action Group, village community, Panchayat Representatives participated and shared views on the rights and duties of voters and Power of Vote.
Som Datt Zard, District Youth Coordinator, NYK Kathua educate and aware the public about the value of vote as stakeholder in formation of Village Panchayat, State and Central Governments.
BHADARWAH: The sixth National Voters Day was celebrated throughout Chenab valley with enthusiasm.
At Bhadarwah, the Day was celebrated with enthusiasm at Dak Banglow Bhadarwah.
The programme was organized by SDM Bhadarwah Mohd Anwar Banday who is also Electrol Registration Officer (ERO) and Tehsildar Bhadarwah Dr Amir Hussain who is also Assistant Electrol Registration Officer (AERO) at SDM Office Bhadarwah.
SDM Bhadarwah spoke about the importance of the day, while Tehsildar Bhadarwah Dr Amir Hussain said that this day is celebrated to aware youths about their right to vote and informed that eligible voters would be enrolled on time and handed over their Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) on January 25 every year adding this initiative will give the youth a sense of empowerment, pride and inspire them to exercise their franchise.
BDO Bhadarwah Tahir Malik, NCC JD Officer Bhadarwah Arif Rana, CDPO Bhadarwah Roshan Lal, SHO Bhadarwah Jatinder Sambyal and others also spoke on the occasion.
National Voters Day celebrations were also reported from Doda,Kishtwar,Drabshalla, Gandoh, Batote, Ramban,Banihal,Gool and other areas of Chenab Valley with huge participation of Distt,Tehsil, Block and zone level officers and officials beside Students of educational institutions.
SAMBA: The Day was celebrated in Samba wherein voters drawn from different Blocks of District participated in the function at Govt Degree College Samba.
On the occasion, a rally was also organized by District Administration in which DDC Samba, District Level Officers, general public and students carrying placards with slogans participated .The rally started from Govt. Degree College, Samba and culminated at Kehli Mandi, Samba.
The District Development Commissioner, Samba, Sheetal Nanda on the occasion impressed upon the voters to ensure greater participation in the elections for strengthening the democracy in the country.
Others present in the programme were Additional Deputy Commissioner Samba Pawan Sharma, Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Sonu Pargal, Assistant Commissioner (Development) Tilak Raj, GM DIC Krishan Lal, GDC Samba Principal Romesh Chander and District Officers of different departments.
In Ghagwal sub-division functions were organised at Govt Higher Secondary Schools Ghagwal and Rajpura.An impressive function was organised at Govt Higher Seconndary School Vijaypur in which seminar was organised.Later a rally was also taken from higher secondary school to vijaypur market spreading the importance of voter awareness.
UDHAMPUR: The National Voters Day was celebrated in the ICDS projects Udhampur, Ghordi ,Pancheri ,Dudu Basantgarh.
Child Development Project Officer Udhampur Amit Singh Manhas impressed upon the fact with the significance of national voters day so that the voters can take part in political process and as many women voters as possible need to be enrolled. Without participation of women a significant proportion of population remains on the fringe of democracy.
Sanjay Gupta, KAS District programme officer ICDS Udhampur supervised the celbrations.
KATRA: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board organized a function on the National Voters day at SGC, Katra. Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Chief Executive Officer was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Dr. M. K. Kumar, Additional Chief Executive Officer, Pankaj Gupta and Dr. Arvind Karwani, Deputy Chief Executive Officers, Rajinder Singh, Officer On Special Duty and Ashok Kumar, Director Sports, SMVDSB also participated in the interaction session.
Sohit Kohli, System Manager was appointed as Nodal Officer to provide guidance and support for the enrolment of any employee of the Board who shall liaise with District Election Officer and ERO for enrolment of unregistered but eligible employees in the respective voters list.
Billawar: Govt. Degree College, Billawar in collaboration with District Election office, Kathua celebrated the National Voters’ Day. Later a symposium was organized on the topic Right to Vote: The base of democracy. Dr. R. S.Charak, SDM Billawar was the chief guest on the occasion and the function was presided over by Suresh Kumar Sharma, Principal of GDC Billawar. In all, 10 students from GDC Billawar, New Age Degree College, Phinter and GHSS, Billawar participated in it and threw light on the topic. Their performances were adjudged by the jury comprising Prof Joginder Kumar, Prof Rakesh Sharma and Lecturer Arjun Singh on the bases of Content, Presentation and Pronunciation. Ruhi Mankotia, BSc Part-III was adjudged as the best speaker while the 2nd and 3rd positions were secured by Arti and Deepika of Sem-II respectively. The entire event was compeered and conducted by Prof. Amit Kumar Sharma.
HIRANAGAR: 6TH National Voters Day was celebrated in the premises of Govt. GLDM Degree College Hiranagar. The Chief Guest was given Guard of Honour by NCC cadets. The function started with the presentation of bouquet followed by the welcome address by Dr. Naresh Kumar Gupta Principal of the College. Speaking on the occasion he called upon the young voters to participate in the political process of the country and emphasized the need to strengthen the Indian democracy.
A symposium on the topic ‘Democracy and electoral participation’ was organized in which six students presented their views.
Sh. Sohan Lal Sharma SDM Hiranagar (Chief Guest) and Jatinder Mishra Tehsildar and Mohd Sayeed BDO Hiranagar (Guests of Honour) on this occasion also expressed their views on the topic.
The Chief Guest appreciated the role of Principal and college Management for organising this unique function. Some EPIC Cards were also distributed to the voters who recently enrolled their names in the voters list.
The whole programme was compared by Prof. Rakesh Sharma HOD Hindi and vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Vijay Kumar Chandan HOD Botany.
Senior faculty of the college Prof. Daya Vilas, Prof. Arun Kumar & Prof. Monika Mahajan and others were also present on the occasion.
Thannamandi: Govt. Degree College Thannamandi celebrated National Voters Day by organizing an Electoral Awareness Programme in the college. Block level officer Rezwan Ahmed Malik delivered technical lectures and provided awareness to the students regarding the their entry in electoral roll and preparation of election cards. Four faculty members Prof. Junaid Jazib, Lect. Ashfaq Ahmed, Dr. Mohd Abbas Wani and Lect. Sajid Ahmed (English) also spoke at the occasion. Principal of the college Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Raina presided over the function and in his presidential address he spoke at length on importants of the day and said that the four inventions viz Currency in Economics, Wheel in Mechanics, Photo Copier in Electronics and Vote in Politics have revoluationalized the world and played fundamental role for making the world most civilized and powerful.
Ramnagar: In connection with national voters day, The SVEEP cell of the college organized a number of events of SVEEP in which there were Interactive Lecture by Nodal Officer SVEEP and other experts on the topic youth for voters’ awareness, human chain formation and a Rally on Voters’ Day to the town. In the programme the Principal of the college Prof. Taranath was the chief guest and Prof. Brinder Singh Chib was the Guest of Honour and Prof. Kewal as the chief observer of the event.
The function started with the welcome adress by the SVEEP nodal officer Dr. Pankaj Sharma. Dr. Pankaj Sharma in his welcome cum introductory adress apprised all present about the importance of the Voters’ Day vis-à-vis role and function of the SVEEP Cell .
Chief Guest Principal Prof. Tara Nath flagged the rally of the students from the college at Village Thaplal to Ramnagar town forth which they participated in the Programme organized by the Election Returning Officer of Ramnagar at GHSS Ramnagar.
Hitesh Kharka, Om Raj Katoch, PTI Suresh Kumar provided all needed support for the programme. The programme finally concluded with the vote of thanks by Prof. Satish Kumar.
REASI: The Voter’s Day was celebrated at District Headquarter Reasi where the District Election Officer ( Deputy Commissioner ) Reasi Sushma Chauhan was the chief guest on the occasion.
ADDC Reasi Mr. Bhawani Rakwal, ADC Shiv kumar Gupta , Assistant Commissioner Revenue Abdul Sattar, ACD Suram chand Sharma, Amod Ashok Nagpure IPS, Chief planning officer Reasi H.L Sharma, CMO Mr. Parminder singh, CEO Reasi Vinod kumar Soni, ARTO and others officers of different departments, representative of colleges, ,schools, social and Non Governmental Organizations, prominent citizens and large number of students of various institutions were present on the occasion.
Salal Power Station celebrated ‘National Voters Day’ today on 25.01.2016. On the occasion, A. G. Ansari administered the pledge to a large number of employees of Salal Power Station in the Admn. Block premises of the Power Station.
