JAMMU: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri on Monday demanded allotment of separate funds for casual labourers working in irrigation and Flood Control Department and others departments of the State Government in the next year State annual budget so that they get regular payment of their wages properly.
Addressing a largely attended rally of casual labourers here, Shastri said that the casual labourers and others are not getting their salaries in time and they had to wait months together to receive their emoluments in time adding that this is the great injustices to these poor labours.
This practice should be stopped for which separate heads should be allotted in various departments particularly irrigation and flood control department, PWD in the 2015-16 budget itself, he added.
Shastri also stressed deduction of CP Fund of these workers as per labour laws.
He also pleaded for comprehensive regularisation policy for the casual labourers to bring to an end the prevailing uncertainty and unrest among the 62,000 daily rated workers.
Several resolution were adopted in the rally includes release of two installments of 17 per cent DA due from January and July this year, enhancing the wages of casual labourers Rs 10,000 per month beside their immediate regularisation, implementing central labour laws in J and K, increasing medial allowance to Rs 1000 per month and removing of all pay anomalies of clerical staff in SRO 93.
