Nasir Wani’s son poses with gun

STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Stirring yet another controversy for senior National Conference (NC) leader and former Home Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, picture of his son brandishing an AK-47 gun in the valley have reportedly gone viral.
The pictures show his son standing and posing with the gun next to armed personnel.
However, NC was quick to defend the son and said that Wani’s pictures have been blown out of proportion.
Wani came out in defence of his son and said, “I am not aware of this but will check what is on his Facebook page. Is this an offence? My son wants to be a police officer to serve the country. I will nevertheless check when these pictures were taken.” Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sunil Sethi hit out at Wani’s son, he said, “This is a reckless act, those authorities who allowed the boy to hold this gun are responsible. Who would have been responsible had there been any incident. Those who are also trying underplay this are behaving recklessly. When you deal with an assault weapon this is a serious matter.” “Do not exaggerate things. He is just posing with the gun, not harming anyone,” said party leader Surinder Singh while speaking to a news channel. Wani, a close aide of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, was recently in the midst of controversy himself after pictures of him kicking a party worker surfaced.
The incident took place in Abdullah’s home constituency Ganderbal. Wani later denied the incident and said that the video footage was doctored.
