JAMMU: Nami Dogri Sanstha (NDS) released a English poetry book ‘A Ray of Hope’ written by Kiran Kanchan.
Chief Guest, Anjali Sharma, Programme Head, Doordarshan Kendra Jammu, released the book in a function organised at KL Saigal Hall, here on Saturday.
S.K Kapoor, Assistant General Manager, State Bank of India Jammu, was the Guest of Honour while Additional Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn was the Special Guest on the occasion.
Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India, S.S Anand Lehar presided over the function.
Dr. Manpreet Kour read paper on the book. Patron, Youth Wing NDS, Prof. Anupama Sharma and President NDS, Dogra Harish Kaila also shared the dais.
Congratulating the writer, Anjali Sharma said that English is the global language and the poetry must be conceptualised by one and all.
S. K Kapoor praised the efforts of Kiran Kanchan and said that she her poetry writings preach love, humanity and develop a quality of creativity and also to be merciful for others.
Dr. Amn said that this book will put a jewel in the crown of Jammu and praised the author.
Lauding the efforts of Kiran Kanchan, S.S Anand Lehar emphasised the need for such books which has poetry in English language and will serve to improve the thought process from the point of view of the poet. Dogra Harish said that poets had relation with nature, they had positive mental attitude due to which so beautiful thoughts come to them and they write down their feelings and society gets benefitted.
Yash Pal Yash, General Secretary NDS, compered the programme and Arjun Mohan, General Secretary, Youth Wing, Nami Dogri Sanstha (Regd.) presented the vote of thanks.
