SAMBA: The Sikh community members took out an impressive `Nagar- Kirtan’ in connection with the 351st Parkash Purab of Guru Gobind Singh at village Kolpur in the area of Ramgarh in district Samba on Monday. A large number of Sikh community members from adjoining villages of the Ramgarh sector assembled at Gurdwara Kolpur. The Nagar Kirtan was started from village Kolpur and passing through adjoining areas of the Ramgarh sector reached again at the Gurdwara.
A highly decorated chariot was created by using an open vehicle where the holy Guru Granth Sahib was placed. It was fitted with loud speakers and several religious personalities of the Sikh community were leading the grand Shobha Yatra and chanting Gurbani Path.
The programme was organised by the Gurudwara Parbandak Committee Kolpur. The District Administration made elaborate security arrangements for the smooth conduct of the Shobha Yatra
Panj Pyare, attired in traditional dress of warriors, carrying swords in hands were leading the grand Shobha Yatra. Sikh youth clad in impressive dresses displayed their martial art skills `Gatka’ which remained main attraction for the common people witnessing the Shobha Yatra throughout the route. The Nagar Kirtan was received by members of other community at some places which displayed the rich bonds of secularism.
UDHAMPUR: Prakasha Purabof Tenth Guru Dashmesh Pita Shri Guru Govind Singh was also celebrated at Gurudawara Tegh Bahadur Sahib at Umarda Morh in Udhampur in which besides local devotees, army officials and District Gurudawara Prabandak Committee (DGPC), SKPTA and 137 Bn of CRPF also paid obeisance.
On the occasion Hajuri Ragi Bhai Navjyot Singh, Ragi Jagtar Singh, Karanjyot Singh, Dilbagh Singh, Satvinder Singh and Bhai Baldev Singh recited the Bhajan Kirtan and enthralled the devotees. Raagi Jatha also applauded the prime scarifice made by Guru ji.
POONCH: A religious Samagam was held in Gurdwara Mahant Sahib Poonch dedicated to the Martyrdom of Sahibzadas Ajit Singh, Jujhar Singh, Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh in which large number of Sangat participated.
Raagi Jathas of Bhai Kulbir Singh, Bhai Harcharan Singh, Bhai Manmeet Singh and Bhai Bhupinder Singh recited Gurbani Kirtan. The Parcharak Bhai Amarjeet Singh explained the history of the sacrifice of the Sahibzadas. After the Bhog ceremony Guru ka Langar was distributed.
President of Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Anmol Singh presented the vote of thanks.
