SUNDERBANI : A Nagar Kirtan was taken out from Gurudwara Singh Sabha Tanda to Gurudwara Singh Sabha Sunderbani on the occasion of 522nd Martyrdom Day of 5th Sikh Guru, Guru Arjan Dev Ji.
The Holy Guru Granth Sahib with Bhai Balbir Singh Ji in attendance, was kept on a decorated vehicle and ahead of it Panj Piyaras traditionally attired and armed with swords walked. Thousands of devotees joined the procession recitinjg Bhajan Kirtan and Gurbani of Sahib Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji. The traditional warfare and martial art (Gatka) was also displayed at places.
The Nagar Kirtan of the type is taken out every year on the occasion of Shaheedi Gurpurab of Fifth Guru. The speakers in this Nagar Kirtan resented that the administration failed to cooperate because no PHE water tanker was deputed nor any medical facility for the first aid was made available which is inevitability required on such functions. The Gurdwara Committee approached the army authorities to provide drinking water through a tanker which was provided.
Besides others the social worker Babu Ram Sharma also installed a stall in which the Sangat was provided with Halwa.
The Nagar Kirtan culminated in Gurdwara Singh Sabha Sunderbani where the Sangat was served with Guru Ka Langar.
