Nadeem of Doda beat MP wrestler for title bout

KATRA: Wrestler Nadeem of Doda of J&K Police lifted 61st Annual Chhapanoo (Fadya) Dangal title defeating Gourav of Madhya Pradesh in the title bout that lasted for 23 minutes at village Chhapanoo in Tehsil and district Reasi.
The winner of main bout Nadeem was awarded with cash prize of Rs. 11,000 while runners-up Gourav presented a cash prize of Rs. 10,000. The award for the title bout was sponsored by former Sarpanch, Sham Lal Sharma and Kuldeep Sharma with a contribution of Rs 21,000 to the organisers.
The day-long dangal was organized by Chhapanoo Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association (JKISWA) under the overall supervision of former Sarpanch Sham Lal Sharma, Rattan Lal Naib Sarpanch and Bishan Dass.
President JKISWA and former Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council (JKSC) Shiv Kumar Sharma was chief guest, who gave away the cash prizes to the winner and runners-up.

The bouts officiated by Raj Singh, Manjoor Hussain, Lal Singh, Punjab Singh (Panch), Babu Khan and Murli Dhar (Munna).
In second main bout, Deepak of Punjab defeated Imaam Hussain of Domel to be awarded with Rs 10,000 cash prize. Runners-up, Imam got Rs 8,000. Rattan Lal, Bishan Dass and Baneet Sharma contributed the prize money for the second main bout.
The third bout won by Dillar Khan (Rs 8,000) of J&K Police who trounced Yuv Raj (Rs 6,000) of Akhnoor in Jammu. The fourth bout went to Ifran of Basantgarh beating Goggi of Karnal while fifth bout won by Kharpu of Nagrota outplaying Shera of Haryana.
Other bouts: Billu of Jatti beat Salman of Chopra shop (Udhampur), Subash of Reasi beat Shubam of Delhi, Chain Singh Reasi beat Banti of UP, Rajesh Sharma of J&K Police beat Soni of UP, Murad Ali of Jatti beat Rahul of UP and Jamat Ali of Jatti beat Sumit of Delhi.
In all, 62 bouts were played in the dangal. Members of organizing committee included Sham lal Sharma, Rattan lal, Bishan Dass, Kuldeep Sharma, Baneet Sharma, Piara Hussain, Rakesh Kumar, Master Sat Paul, Karan Singh, Prem Singh, Ram Raj, Niyaz Ali, Hyder Ali, Ram Ditta, Talib Hussain, Farman Ali, Panch Prem Chand, Sukhdev Singh (Sarpanch), Yash Paul, Dharam Chand and Chain Singh.
