Dear Editor,
Thirty years have passed since the deadly radiation leaks from the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. There is a proposal for the installation of nuclear power plant in Punjab, even as the western countries are freezing their nuclear power plants. We should obtain sustainable forms of producing energy such as wind, solar, hydro, paddy straw etc.
Solar and wind energy is reasonable, cost-effective, eco-friendly and safe. Being a border state, Punjab always remains under threat. Reconsider the decision because nuclear power is bane.
