N N Vohra, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed greet people on Gurpurab

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra on Tuesday extended his greetings to the people on the occasion of Gurpurab, the birth anniversary of tenth Sikh guru, Guru Gobind Singh.
In a message, the Governor observed that Guru Gobind Singh was an apostle of peace, compassion and love, saying that the values underlying the teachings of the great Guru would continue to inspire future generations to strive for establishing a healthier society and a just social order.
He expressed hope that this auspicious occasion would be a harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity in the State and further strengthen the bonds of communal harmony, brotherhood and the secular traditions that have been the hallmark of the glorious heritage and composite ethos of Jammu and Kashmir for centuries past.
Meanwhile, Peoples Democratic Party leaders Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Mehbooba Mufti today greeted the people on the eve of Gurpurab, birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh.
The leaders said that teachings of the great Guru should guide one’s endeavours to establish a system of justice and equality.
The PDP leaders expressed hope that the auspicious occasion would usher the State of Jammu and Kashmir towards peace, progress and prosperity.
Meanwhile, Gurdeep Singh Sasan, senior leader J and K National Conference and Chairman J and K Sikh Societies Amalgamate greeted the people on the eve of Gurpurab of Sahib-e-Kamal Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
