Pledges Govt jobs; free electricity, ration

JAMMU: Chairman Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP), Ghulam Nabi Azad, on Friday visited Jagti township in Nagrota here and interacted with the displaced Kashmiri Pandits. He also listened to the various concerns flagged by the displaced community.
Azad pledged to raise various pressing issues faced by the migrants, including enhancing employee security and reinstating free ration and electricity for low-income employees at appropriate forums.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the settlement of Kashmiri Pandits.
He said, “During my tenure as Chief Minister, I built these flats but since then, no government has paid any attention to them. They are suffering. We provided packages for employment and other essentials during my tenure in the center and advocated strongly for them. However, since then, the Central government has neglected these efforts. We were expecting further support and packages for the residents. I appeal to the government to feel their pain”.
Azad said that if voted to power, his government will uplift their stand of living and will take all necessary steps for their settlement and providing jobs and facilities to those living in these flats.
Azad also extended warm greetings to all on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri.
