MV International School organizes cricket tournament

VIJAYPUR: Organized by Department of Youth Service and Sports, Inter-School Cricket tournament under– 14 and 17 for boys of Vijaypur Zone got underway in the MV International School ground, here on Monday.

Nine teams from various schools of the zone participated in the tournament.

In the first match of U-17 category, Govt Higher Secondary Vijaypur defeated Govt High School Sunjwan by 38 runs. In the second match Jyoti Public High School won over Praveen Model High School by six runs.

First Semifinal was played between MV International School and Jyoti Public High School where the MVIS team crushed the opponents and won by nine wickets.  In the second semi final Govt. Higher Secondary School, Vijaypur won over Netaji Higher Secondary School by 11 runs.

In the U-14 category Jyoti Public High School won over Govt Middle School, Ranjirhi by nine wickets. Jyoti Public High School defeated MV International in the final.

In the thrilling under-17 final match MV International School defeated Higher Secondary School, Vijaypur by 1 wicket.

The teams for both age groups have been selected for the inter zone competitions. The tournament was organized the supervision of ZPEO Vijaypur, Vijay Singh Slathia.

The matches were officiated by Sanjay Gupta, Rajinder Singh, Mohinder Kumar, Dalveer Singh, Sarita, Rajkumari and Bawana Koul.

Earlier the Principal, MV International School welcomed the guests and officials of Department of Youth Services and Sports for the tournament. Director, MV International School felicitated the winners and motivated them to strengthen the team of the Zone. Hira Lal Abrol, Chairman MVIS congratulated the players and encouraged them to work for the final selections in the National Level Cricket Team.
