MV International School celebrates 10th Annual Day

JAMMU: MV International School celebrated its 10th Annual Day function ‘ZEST’ at Gen Zorawar Singh Auditorium on Sunday. The school showcased its landmark achievements amidst a colourful cultural programme.
Vice Chairperson Jammu Development Authority, Sushma Chouhan and Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Kiran Wattal were the Guests of Honour while President, Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Jammu, Rakesh Gupta was the special invitee.
Earlier, the Chairman of the School, Hira Lal Abrol, Vice Chairperson Savita Abrol, Directors Gourav Abrol and Aakriti Abrol and the Principal K.L Dogra welcomed the guests and the parents to the function. The function began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp.
The Chairman emphasised on the importance of quality education, sound health and moral values in the holistic development of children.
He further stressed on the role of school and parents in the collective upbringing of these future citizens of the nation. The Principal presented the annual report and highlighted the very many achievements of the staff and students of the School in the past year.
The cultural programme began with floral obeisance to lord Ganesha, Medley of western dances was followed by the Bollywood Masala and the message to save the environment were the highlights of the events of the junior students.
The middle school students paid tributes to the martyrs and they dance to the tunes of the hit salsa dance number.
The special feature of the programme was the unique dance on UV lights which carried to stop the child labour of the senior section. This performance stole the show by scintillating performance and has been done for the first time in Jammu by any group. The fusion dance in the end displayed the diverse culture of J and K.
The Guests of Honour gave away prizes to the toppers in academics, 100 per cent score in CBSE exams, 100 per cent attendance, National and State level champions in Robotics, Martial Arts and Olympiads and various other competitions.
Sushma Chauhan congratulated the school for such a synchronised performance and appreciated the team efforts to bring out such a show. She motivated the parents and the teachers to practice and imbibe sound moral values in the children by being a role model themselves.
Wattal appreciated the school management for having provided a golden opportunity to the people of border areas to gain quality education in their vicinity. He appreciated that the school is making a sound progress and is making a stride in its march towards excellence.
Gourav Abrol apprised the audience about the new ventures of the school related to English Language Lab, Psychomotor Skills Park and Scouts and Guides. He shared the master plan of the school’s expansion programme with the gathering and thanked everyone for their presence to make this event a grand success. The programme came to an end with the National Anthem which was followed by lunch for the gathering.
