SRINAGAR: Murtaza Warriors and TCI Max made their way to semifinals of the Police Public Cricket Premier League, organized by Jammu and Kashmir Police under Civic Action Programme.
Earlier first quarterfinal played at Kashmir University stadium, Murtaza Warriors registered a narrow four-run win over Mirza Gladiators.
Batting first, Murtaza Warriors was bowled out for 159 runs in 19.4 overs. Adil Reshi was the top scorer with 40 runs.
In reply, Mirza Gladiators also played well but finally managed to make 155 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Adil Showkat scored 38 runs.
Man of the Match and Best catch awards were achieved by Adil Reshi of Murtaza Warriors while Umar Nazir of Mirza Gladiators got Most sixes award.
In another quarterfinal played at Sher-i-Kashmir Cricket Stadium, TCI Max comfortably registered win in low scoring match against Ramhall Lions.
Batting first, Ramhall Lions were bundled out for 65 runs in 19.1 overs. In reply, TCI Max easily managed to win the match in 6.1 overs with Usman Pandith making 34 runs.
All the awards went to TCI Max with Musaib Farooq Man of the Match award by taking four wickets and Usman Pandith with Most Sixes and Best catch awards.
Professor of Kashmir University Nisar Iqbal presented the awards among the players.
The other two quarterfinals played between JKP Tigers and Anantnag Kings and Simula Super Stars and HK Stars were disrupted due to rains. The matches will be played tomorrow at Sher-i-Kashmir Cricket Stadium.
