Multipurpose health workers demand pending wages

JAMMU: The Female Multipurpose Health Workers (FMPHWs) under the banner of Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF) on Tuesday held a protest in front of Directorate of Health Services, Jammu in support of their demands including release of pending salaries for several months.
The speakers alleged that despite various requests, the Finance Minister has failed to settle the issue once for all for which proposal is lying in the Finance Department for the last so many months with the result these FMPHWs have not received their salary for more than 14 months.
President JKMEF, Sushil Sudan said that FMPHWs are facing acute hardship for want of their salary and have again urged authorities to take remedial steps so that this problem is settled once for all.
Later FMPHWs and leaders of JKMEF took procession from DHS Office Complex to Civil Secretariat which was foiled by police.
The technical staff of SHTO Nagrota led by Surinder Pal Singh also joined protest.
Those who were present in the demonstration included Mahima Devi, President District Udhampur, Nancy Bhan, Urmil, Neelam Kumari, Kamla Devi, Rajesh Bala, Mamta Devi, Rekha Rani, Sarso Devi, Nirmal Kour, Geeta, Kuldeep Kour, Swaran Kour, Sarfo Devi, Bharti, Sharda Devi, Rajni Bala, Shoba, Kanta Kumari, Sarita Devi, Adrish Devi, Champa Devi, Snesh Lata, Rajni, Reeta Kumari, Sudesh, Rani Devi and Babli
The leaders from JKMEF included Vinod Kumar Sharma, Sham Prashar, Districrt President JKMEF District Udhampur, C.L Koul, Harpal Singh, Parfulat Singh, Yougal Bakshi, R.P Singh, Kamaljeet Swhaney, Jarnail Choudhary, Surinder Bakshi, Vishal Sharma, Balkar Singh, (President Kathua), Surinder Kumar Sharma, General Secretary, Parshotam Sharma, Vishw Bandhu, Varyam Massih, Rakesh Hangloo, Bharat Bhushan Bhagat and Bansi Lal also attended the demonstration.
