JAMMU: Erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir cadre IPS officer Mukesh Singh has been appointed as Additional Director General (ADG) in the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), officials said.
“Mukesh Singh, IPS (AGMUT:1996), Inspector General, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) has been appointed as Additional Director General (Level-15 in the Pay Matrix), ITBP, against existing vacancy from the date of assumption of charge of the post and upto October 17, 2028 (total 05 years) or until further orders, whichever is earlier,” reads an order issued by Chandan Kumar, Under Secretary, Ministry of Home Affair, Government of India.
The Ministry has also requested that the date on which Singh assumes the charge of ADG be formally intimated.
Mukesh Singh, a seasoned officer of the Jammu and Kashmir cadre, has served in multiple key positions across India and has extensive experience in border management, internal security, and counter-insurgency operations. His appointment comes at a time when ITBP is playing a critical role in securing India’s northern and northeastern frontiers.
