KATHUA: The 2nd Open Day Night Volleyball Tournament, organized by the Volleyball Club Mukerian Punjab in collaboration with the Volleyball Club Sherpur Kathua and the District Volleyball Association Kathua, concluded with great excitement and participation, here on Tuesday. A total of 26 teams took part in this tournament, showcasing the enthusiasm for volleyball in the region.
The final match, contested between Mukerian Volleyball Club and SKR Volleyball Club Arnia, was a thrilling encounter. Ultimately, the Mukerian Club emerged victorious with a 2-1 victory, securing sets with scores of 25-21 and 25-14, while SKR Volleyball Club Arnia fought back to claim the third set with a score of 21-25.
The event was graced by Chief Guest Abhinandan Sharma, DDC Hiranagar while Kamal Sharma, President of the District Volleyball Association Kathua, and Dit Sharma, Retired Tehsildar, along with several prominent villagers were also present.
Their presence added to the excitement of the matches and underscored the community support for such sporting events.
The tournament provided a platform for local volleyball enthusiasts to showcase their talent and passion for the sport, fostering camaraderie and healthy competition among participants.
