Mufti had a vision for nomads: Hamid Choudhary

RAJOURI: Paying tributes to Late Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and founder of People’s Democratic Party, PDP leader and member J and K State Advisory Board for Gujjars and Bakerwals, Abdul Hamid Choudhary said that development of Shahadra Sharief Shrine, establishment of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah (BGSB) University and development of hostels for Gujjars and Bakerwals were some of the historic decisions taken by the visionary leader.
He added that Mufti Sayeed by inducting a young and dynamic leader Chowdhury Zulfikar Ali as Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution and Tribal Affairs Minister had also done a great job for the community. The minister in turn proved his mettle and worked for the community besides whole State in most effective manner. Being a visionary politician and a young Gujjar leader he was very well groomed by Mufti Sayeed who proved to be an able CAPD Minister.
The BGSB University established by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed will also continue to impart quality education to thousands of students for years to come, Choudhary Hamid observed and added that development of Shahadra Sharief and its beautification besides construction of a helipad and some huts was also aimed at encouraging pilgrimage as well as cross-border tourism on the pattern of shrines like Ajmer Sharief and Nizamuddin Aulia.
Extending whole hearted support to party Chief Mehbooba Mufti at this hour of grief on behalf of Gujjars and Bakerwals, Choudhary Hamid assured that incomplete task left by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed will be carried forward with same spirit and his dreams realised with active support of community members. Mufti Sayeed, he added wanted both India and Pakistan to make Jammu and Kashmir as a peace zone and not a battle field.
