JAMMU: Madhya Pradesh (MP) lifted Overall Champions Trophy of the All India Karate Do Championship ‘Mamoru Miwa Cup 2016’ organised by J and K Karate do Association at JK Public School Kunjwani, here which concluded on Sunday with great pomp and show. The runner up trophy was bagged by Uttar Pradesh (UP).
In the closing ceremony, Kavinder Gupta, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly was the Chief Guest who exhorted that schools play a vital role in nurturing the young minds and sports are indispensible to channelize the energy of the youth.
“Kashmir Ho Ya Guwahati, Apna Desh Apni Maati” were the inspiring words of the Chief Guest.
Deputy Commissioner Jammu Simrandeep Singh and Director Urban and Local Bodies Jammu, Saujanya Sharma, Senior Vice-President J and K Sports Karate Do Association, Sidharth Daluja, President of the Association, Dr. Dushyant Choudhary, Chairman of the Association, Dr Ashok Gupta, Tournament Director, Shihan Hasrat Khan and Principal JK Public School Panjtirthi, Suman Bambah were the Guests of Honour on the occasion.
P.K Mengi, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ashok Sharma, Senior Superintendent of Police, Ashwani Gupta, Station Superintendent Railways, Jammu, Dinesh Gupta, Manager Saraswati Vaishno and Kalika Dham, Raj Daluja, Chairman JK Educational Society, Sidharth Daluja, Member of School Management, Anil Pathania, Principal JK Public School, Kathua, Dr. Sandeep Gupta and Dr. Suruchi Gupta were the Guests of Honour.
S.K Singh, Principal JKPS Kunjwani welcomed the Chief Guest and the dignitaries by presenting bouquets.
Ashok Sharma extended his heartiest congratulations to the winners and wished luck to all the Karatekas for their future endeavours. Jatinder Singh Gandhok, father of late Raunaq Singh Gandhok handed over the Overall Champions Trophy to the team of Madhya Pradesh and runner up trophy to Uttar Pradesh.
The closing ceremony was also marked by scintillating cultural performances by the students of JK Public School, Kunjwani which were appreciated by one and all.
Dr. Dushyant Choudhary, Organising President of the Association with Raj Daluja Chairman felicitated the Chief Guest. Brijesh Bhau, Chief Technical Director of All India Karate Do Association, in his vote of thanks expressed his gratitude to the management for their magnanimity to organise such a mega event in the school premises. He also showered words of praise for immense coordination among the staff of the school and assured that their association would be organising such events in the school in future also.
