Most of ‘bad elements’ responsible for death, destruction neutralised: DGP

SRINAGAR: Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh on Friday said that a lot has been done to wipe out anti-peace elements including militants and that it won’t take much time to clear off the remaining ones.
“There were many thorns in the garden of peace, that were removed by police along with security forces”, the DGP said while talking to reporters on the sidelines of Pedal For Peace, adding that those remaining will be removed as well and that won’t take much time.
According to a police handout, the DGP said that J&K has lost number of people due to the terrorism adding that most of those bad elements responsible for the death and destruction have been neutralised and hoped that the remaining bad elements would be neutralised. He gave credit to the people of Jammu and Kashmir adding that their support and cooperation to the police has been immense.
Referring to the event, the DGP said that it is catching more participation every passing year adding that the youngest participant of today is 3 year old. The event is organized under J&K Police’s Civic Action Programme wherein people of all ages are taking part, it’s our endeavour to work along with the people for the peace of J&K, the DGP said.
He said that such events help in channelizing the energy of youth, especially the children into positive direction. These events would encourage them to achieve their goals in different fields, he said, adding that these events play a very important role in guiding them to stay away from drugs and other paths of destruction
The DGP said the children have suffered in education and growth in the past and with their large participation now, it feels that the time has changed now.
